Pied à pied: long-lasting children's shoes
Due to their tremendous growth rate, children in France get through an average of 7.5 pairs of shoes a year! In 2018, this pattern of consumption generated an environmental cost of 539 million kg of CO2 equivalent. That's the equivalent of 10,000 round-the-world trips by car...
To remedy this, Pied À Pied offers children's shoes that can be rented and reconditioned. These ultra-wear-resistant shoes feature: a thick leather upper, a reinforced rubber outsole and a replaceable midsole to guarantee a virtually new, hygienic fit every time they're reused. In this way, our toddlers' shoes can be renewed without waste and with minimal environmental damage.
This project has been selected as part of Design L'Expo 2023 and will be exhibited at La Cale 2 Créateurs from 24th January 2024 to 10th March 2024.
