Bascule 1

Bascule… and get involved!

Often simplistically reduced to voting or representative democracy, citizenship remains abstract for most people.

Understanding the link between our choices and their impact on society remains a daily challenge. This abstraction is an obstacle to civic engagement. To remedy this, Bascule offers an innovative digital service that encourages users to ask questions and become actively involved.

After completing a questionnaire on their interests and availability, users receive

proposals for possible action: volunteer work, support for independent media or access to participatory democracy workshops.

Motivating and community-oriented, this service also enables users to assess their own progress, step by step, in their civic commitment.

« How can we involve citizens in public life to protect our democracy? Bascule stimulates people into action. This digital application has one objective: for everyone to find their own form of personal involvement! The experience unfolds in 2 stages:

1. The entry questionnaire;

2. The “match” with civic action.

Whether in the form of financial support to an independent media outlet, voter registration, volunteering or visiting local markets, Bascule combats inertia and gets people moving.»
