What is "Le Diplôme de design Bac +5"?
The "Diplôme de design Bac +5" is based on a five-year curriculum, divided into two cycles : a 3-year bachelor's level degree program and a 2-year master’s level degree program.
The school offers programs taught in English at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Throughout the five-year curriculum, the school prepares students to experiment, to fail and to start again, to discover the different design professions, to develop their ability to manage a global project, to acquire project management skills around socio-economic themes.
This diploma allows students to acquire a first international experience, and the recognition of the diploma offers interesting career development prospects in the short and medium term.
A truly recognized diploma
L’École de design Nantes Atlantique is one of the very few design schools to have obtained certification from the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research for its Master’s level degree in design. The certification was renewed in 2010 and 2016. This degree is also registered in the Registre National des Certifications Professionnelles (the French directory for vocational qualifications or RNCP) as a Level I Master’s level degree.
In 2021, L’École de design Nantes Atlantique became the first and only private design school in France to be awarded the "Grade de Master" from the French Ministry of higher Education and Research.
A certified degree is equivalent to a university master’s programs in France or abroad. It also allows students to receive equivalency credentials for foreign qualifications. In the international sphere, this quality certification gives a school the credibility needed to conclude cooperation agreements with top international universities.

Undergraduate studies
Our three-year undergraduate programs, entirely taught in French, aim to develop creativity and general culture, and to gain a solid professional culture in a design field.
The 1st year of undergraduate studies is dedicated to the basic learning of design and creation and is open to applicants holding a high school diploma and a French level B2.
From the 2nd year, students choose from 8 specializations organized over 2 years (2nd and 3rd year levels of undergraduate studies) in Interior Architecture, Scenography, Graphic Design, Motion Design, UI/UX Design, Game Experience Design, Industrial Design or Transport Design.
Postgraduate studies
Postgraduate studies are organized around several topics. The school offers programs based in Nantes. All are taught in French except for Le Studio France master's level degree program, which is taught in English.
L’École de design also offers programs in International Design Strategy organized in our international studios.
Every year, the studios welcome students for a long immersion period to complete their International Design Strategy master's level degree.
