An international design school

We offer international students the opportunity to experience interculturality and to place their design practice in a strong international context through contact with students of different nationalities. A designer must be able to open up to others and to their culture in order to feed his or her curiosity and creativity, qualities that are essential to the practice of his or her profession. Our school allows its students to cultivate this openness to the world through a international programs and opportunities, in France and abroad.

L'École de design Nantes Atlantique is a signatory of the la charte Erasmus + for the organization of mobility at the European level. It has partnerships with more than 120 schools, spread over 5 continents and each year, about 80 international students are welcomed for an exchange semester at the school in Nantes and about 50 students from L'École de design Nantes Atlantique go and study in the partner schools.

• L'École de design Nantes Atlantique benefits from the EESPIG label (Private Higher Education Establishment of General Interest) by justifying its disinterested management and commitment to the non-profit nature of its activity. L'École de design Nantes Atlantique is the first independent design school to have obtained this label and is one of the few schools to hold the label since January 1st 2022. 

• L'École de design Nantes Atlantique has been a member of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles since 2003, a network of 200 leading schools (engineering, management, design, architecture, political studies institutes) recognized by the State. Admission to the CGE is based on demanding criteria relating to the school's structure, recruitment methods, pedagogical approach, international outlook, links with business, student support and the type of degrees awarded

• The label "Bienvenue en France" with the maximum rating of three stars is delivered by the Campus France Labeling Commission. It attests to the institution's commitment and quality in welcoming international students. L'École de design Nantes Atlantique meets the requirements of the label concerning the quality and accessibility of information, reception facilities, courses, academic support, accommodation, quality of life on campus and post-graduation follow-up for international students.

• L'École de design Nantes Atlantique is a member ofCampus France , the international network for the promotion of French higher education of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The professional world at the heart of pedagogy

L'École de design Nantes Atlantique has always developed a pedagogical approach in interaction with the business world, to ensure the successful insertion of its designers into the workforce after their studies.

It uses a "project-based" teaching approach, with students working on a large number of workshops and projects in partnership with companies, on real-life issues. Throughout their studies, students are required to complete internships and apprenticeships are also available.

The success of L'École de design Nantes Atlantique in terms of professionalization is measured above all by the rate of employment found by its young graduates, a rate of between 80 and 90% six months after obtaining their 5-year design degree.
