The Food Design Lab at Duch Design Week

L'École de design Nantes Atlantique at Dutch Design Week

From 21 to 29 October 2023, the Food Design Lab will be taking part in Dutch Design Week 2023 in Eindhoven in the Netherlands, a major international design event that showcases the work of over 2,600 designers to more than 355,000 national and international visitors. This year, the school's Lab is presenting the exhibition 'Future heritage - A very possible meat, la Vache Nantaise'.

The original scenography by Barreau and Charbonnet comes to life in the rooms of the Klokgebouw, and the public can discover how design can be used to promote more sustainable farming and food production.

The exhibition looks at the place of the Nantes cow in a region undergoing a food transition, taking a systemic approach from rearing to consumption.

Come along to Klokgebouw Hall 1 (Strijp-S zone, Klokgebouw 50) from 11am to 6pm during Dutch Design Week to discover this exhibition, which proposes ways of thinking about how to promote more sustainable food through design and innovation, and to talk to the team and students from the Food Design Lab, directed by Julia Kunkel.

A total of 22 students from the master's programme in Food Design were involved in this project in partnership with Nantes Métropole as part of the Future Investment Programme (France 2030) on the subject of structuring a local, organic beef industry.
