Faced with a natural environment under threat and the exponential growth in the cost of real estate, we are looking for new types of habitat.
Our lifestyles are changing. Family, careers and geographical mobility are defining the shape of a new world. With this in mind, Pierre Guimbretière, in bachelor interior architecture, designed a scalable, flexible and adaptable house. The concept: modular hexagonal modules that can be assembled by inhabitants based on their needs and budget. Depending on the context, the “beehive” can grow or shrink or be completely transformed. Nothing goes to waste in this modular system: if a module is removed from one home, it can be reconditioned a new lease of life!
This project is part of Design portfolio 2020, a selection of 36 projects from this year which bear witness to the talent, creativity and know-how developed by the students during their undergraduate studies.
