International workshop on systemic design in Oslo
An international workshop on systemic design
Students in the City Design and the Food Design master's level degree program travelled to Oslo for a trip rich in discovery and innovation! During an international workshop on systemic design, students from L'École de design Nantes Atlantique worked as a team with students from OsloMet and HTW Berlin.
49 students from the 3 schools worked on the health and sustainability of the fishing industry, with particular emphasis on aquaculture and plastics recycling.
The workshop gave them a better understanding of systemic design. This holistic, iterative approach makes it possible to tackle complex, interconnected challenges, taking into account the points of view of the various stakeholders in the system in which they are embedded.
The students were able to explore different methodological tools after taking part in several talks by professionals and local organizations to explore and deepen their understanding of these topics.
They also enjoyed the Norwegian countryside during a hike in Ullevålseter. A key moment for strengthening team cohesion! Some even tried an icy plunge after a sauna session in the Oslo fjord.
Aware of the environmental impact of air travel, 4 students in the City Design master's level degree program made the trip by train. This adventure took them on 11 trains through 5 countries in 4 days. A journey full of encounters and anecdotes they won't soon forget!
This workshop was made possible by the Erasmus+ program and the European Systemic Design Lab workshop. This collaboration between the three higher education establishments not only enables them to develop systems design tools by pooling skills, but also to offer students an international exchange experience.
