NACAA, the 1st Sino-French design institute
In 2022, L'École de design Nantes Atlantique was chosen by one of China's most prestigious art and design universities, China Academy of Art (CAA) in Hangzhou, to create the 1st Sino-French design institute. Approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education, it reflects the importance of cultural and academic exchanges between the two countries.

At the start of the NACAA academic year, Eric Monnin, a specialist in the International Olympic Movement, spoke to the master and bachelor students about Paris 2024 - Organising Committee for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the history of the Olympiades through design, posters, torches, pictograms and more.
Christian Guellerin presented his strategic vision of the designer profession to all the NACAA students.

Three years later, in September 2026, two new classes of students joined NACAA. Christian Guellerin, Executive Director of the school, and Gaultier Roux, French Director of the institute, joined representatives from the CAA in welcoming these students, who are beginning a dual-degree program between China and France.
In September 2026, NACAA also organized its Joint Management Committee (major annual meeting on this international partnership). Four years after its launch in 2022, this Franco-Chinese institute has matured and is now entering a new phase of its development: one focused on consolidating its model and building its long-term future.

The NACAA institute trains high-level designers who will acquire strategic positions in innovation through bachelor degree programs in product, space and digital design as well as a master degree program in art and technology.
