Our students are envisioning the resilient regions of tomorrow
A design project aimed at rethinking our regions in the face of climate change
Five students from the school’s City Design Lab won the Jury's Special Prize at the competition Butterfly 2050 launched as part of the Plan France 2030 with their design fiction project, Diluvium.
A finalist in the future-scenario competition launched by the General Secretariat for Investment, The team of City Design Master’s students has envisaged what our territories might be like in 2050 in the face of climate change.
At the invitation of Bruno Bonnell, Secretary-General for Investment, responsible for the France 2030 plan, Marine Brégent, Pauline Vergnaud, Jeanne Mazoyer and Clément Morel presented their vision of a desirable future with their forward-looking design project, Diluvium! They won over the jury in the lecture theatre at the Université Paris Cité with this design fiction project, which invites us to take a fresh look at the changes taking place in our local areas and our ways of life as we tackle climate challenges.
Design fiction enables us to devise speculative scenarios and explore possible futures in order to examine them. Diluvium illustrates design’s ability to drive strategic visions that breathe new life into the shaping of regions. By strategically taking users into account at a regional level, it provides the tools and levers needed to change habits across France.
