KAMA SOUDRA: Pillows to soothe sexual pain caused by endometriosis
Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory gynaecological disease characterised by the migration of endometrial cells outside the uterus. This provoking important consequences for the quality of life. Moreover, 88% of them suffer intense pain during intimate relations. As a result, most couples are torn between trying alternative, non-penetrative sexual practices and hoping to find an effective solution that will allow them to do penetrative sexual practice without pain.
Kama Soudra relieves ache and soothes the couple's sexuality by exploring the senses, bodies and sensations thanks to a set of pillows of different shapes and sizes that have several adaptable functions:
- penetrative needs: by positioning the cushions under her pelvis, the woman can generate the ideal angle to limit her pain during penetration.
- non-penetrative needs: with the help of an explanatory booklet and a slow sex kit, couples can learn about non-penetrative practices simply and slowly.
Vibromassage or hot-cold cushions complete the product, inviting couples to adopt their sexual and amorous practices with diversity, simplicity and slowness.
This project has been selected as part of Design L'Expo 2023 and will be exhibited at La Cale 2 Créateurs from 24th January 2024 to 10th March 2024.

"Faced with an invisible handicap, Iéléna Delaunay has designed a tangible object to facilitate lovemaking. To carry out this project, the designer contacted a vast ecosystem of players: users and experts in the field. She was able to produce a functional prototype without any prior knowledge of the necessary techniques.
This innovative project offers a pleasure-based solution to users previously limited to medical solutions. Kama Soudra enables people to live better with their illness, and offers couples experiences that go beyond a simple sexual relationship."
