Guardian: the gamer's guardian angel
Today's gamers are more likely to take care of their PC's health than their own. Yet being an esports athlete exposes the gamer to serious psychological and physiological health problems.
When gaming, gamers find it hard to concentrate on the screen, their posture and the emotions they're experiencing. Guardian comes to the gamer's rescue, protecting both their physical and psychological health.
Its ecosystem, made up of a product and a software part, raises players' awareness of the impact of their playing style. During the game, three tools collect data and transcribe them visually in the form of light signals and datavisualization. In this way, the player adjusts their posture and style of play, and makes lasting improvements to their well-being.
This project has been selected as part of Design L'Expo 2023 and will be exhibited at La Cale 2 Créateurs from 24th January 2024 to 10th March 2024.
"Maxime adopts a user-centered methodology based on the analysis of athletes' behaviors."
"This experimental project focuses on the world of video games, and more specifically on esport competitions. Maxime adopts a user-centered methodology based on the analysis of athletes' behaviors. Like an exoskeleton inspired by the arthropod horseshoe crab, his solution connects the upper and lower body. A measurement tool completes the postural support system.
Thanks to an interface that communicates real-time recommendations for rebalancing the body, players gain in performance and protect their health. " Arnaud Le Roi, Course Leader for the Digital Design Master's program
