Brise
Green tides are a threat to the environment and the economy. These algae, which spread a deadly gas, continue to pollute the world’s coasts year after year. Intensive agriculture is the main cause. So how can we avoid fatal accidents and the collapse of tourism linked to this problem?
Brise is a service combining connected products and digital applications. Autonomous drones fly over beaches affected by green tides. Equipped with gas scanners, they detect the risks linked to the different zones and transmit the information to the source. An interactive map, designed for tourists, informs them of high-risk areas and safe places.
This project, exhibited at La Cale 2 Créateurs from 15 September to 3 October 2021, has been selected as part of Design L'Expo 2020.
"It assesses and analyzes the quantity of hydrogen sulfide {H25} on the surface of the Breton coastline. "
" Brise is a mobile and connected object for exploring, in real time, the risks related to green algae. Adapted to its environment, the drone is autonomous and programmable. It assesses and analyzes the quantity of hydrogen sulfide {H25} on the surface of the Breton coastline. The drone is connected to a remote interface that evaluates the risks that could lead to beaches being closed to the public. The project is directly linked to the themes of the Tangible UX MDes. Its research into the modalities of capture interaction {UX} is directly inspired by living systems and the biosphere. Albéric has been able to surround himself with a host of actors and experts on the subject, such as an investigative journalist, public authorities, a territorial agency for the environment, a scientific committee and food industrialists. As well as this "tracker" which is manufactured according to principles of sustainable development, it is all the mechanics of stakeholder participation and accountability which have enabled him to strengthen his critical thinking as a designer.
