“If you want to be free from your emotions, you need to have true and immediate awareness of them.” Arnaud Desjardins
For bipolar sufferers, their emotions swing between intense manic phases and periods of depression. Yet an emotion is a message which conveys a need. It is therefore vital to have a better understanding of this need.
Jeanne Verstraete, during her studies in UI/UX design, invented a service combining a case connected to an application. Using four pressure sensors, the case immediately displays the emotion recorded and its intensity. An option analyzes behaviors such as eating disorders or ruminations. Thoughts and emotions are connected and help lead to better self-awareness.
This project is part of Design portfolio 2020, a selection of 36 projects from this year which bear witness to the talent, creativity and know-how developed by the students during their undergraduate studies.
