Mission AB€FI: learning financial literacy through play
In France, 85% of people have never had lessons in budgeting and financial education during their school career. Given this figure, how can they make informed, autonomous and responsible financial decisions? Especially as our digital society gives French people a great deal of autonomy in managing their finances.
It was with this in mind that Mission AB€FI was created, with 10 multimodal escape games integrated into the middle-school curriculum. These escape games are spread out over the school year, each time tackling a new financial theme. In a fun way, young people acquire both a financial culture and a financial intelligence that will help them develop a healthy relationship with money over the long term.
This project has been selected as part of Design L'Expo 2023 and will be exhibited at La Cale 2 Créateurs from 24th January 2024 to 10th March 2024.

"We're often confronted with the question of how to manage our finances, and how to translate this into lexicon and documents once we're adults. Frequent mistakes in this area can have dramatic consequences, even leading to excessive debt.
Fiona Marguerite has sought the help of various experts to make her project a reality, skilfully managing to avoid making users feel guilty or inadequate. The teaching staff involved in the pedagogical process and content included in the school curriculum have helped make Mission AB€FI one of the Media Design lab’s most workable projects."
