Opening ceremony of NACAA, the 1st Sino-French design institute

L’École de design Nantes Atlantique has been chosen by one of China's most prestigious art and design universities, the China Academy of Art (CAA) in Hangzhou, to create the first Sino-French design institute: the NACAA (Nantes Atlantique CAA). The NACAA Opening Ceremony took place on April 20th at Hangzhou.

The NACAA Opening Ceremony took place on April 20th at Hangzhou with Christian Guellerin, Executive Director of L'École de design Nantes Atlantique and other guests, including:

  • Shen Hao, CAA Vice President

  • Jin Yibin, CAA Party Secretary

  • Shu Dongpei, Deputy Director General of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education

  • Joan Valadou, Consul General of France in Shanghai,

  • Séverine Boué, University Cooperation Officer

  • Caroline Penard, General Manager CCI France Chine

  • Gao Shiming, CAA President

  • Yu Jian, NACAA President

  • Matthieu Rochette-Schneider, NACAA Vice President

This Sino-French design institute has been approved by the Ministry of Education of China. It consolidates Hangzhou's place as an important center of design and reflects the strong cultural and academic exchanges between France and China.

The bachelor's degree programs in art & technology, product design and environmental design and master's degree programs in art & technology offered at NACAA Institute train high-level designers who will occupy strategic positions in innovation. The French part of the program is coordinated by Matthieu Rochette-Schneider, general manager for China of the centdegrés agency, and Xu Yan, coordinator of the school's relations with the CAA.
