Yata
In January 2022, a study by IFOP made an alarming revelation: ⅓ of employees who telecommute 3 days a week experience burnout.
Louis was inspired by a Mexican toy to create a lighted screen that separates the work and "relaxation" spaces of the house. The Yatago - or Jacob's ladder - makes a fun and fascinating movement. Controlled by an application, the screen becomes an interactive tool that compartmentalizes the living space and diffuses variable luminosity. Placed between the "office" and the rest of the house, it pivots with a simple hand gesture.
Yata is ideal for urban homes where the practice of telecommuting has become commonplace. This attractive screen relaxes teleworkers and helps them to re-establish a better work-life balance.
This project has been selected as part of Design L'Expo 2022 and will be exhibited at La Cale 2 Créateurs from 3 December 2022 to 26 February 2023.
"
Yata redefines the functional limits of physical space.
"
"Through the Yata project, Louis invites us to modify our perception of lines and surfaces. He questions the notion of ladder and "wall" in its physical dimension. Thus, Yata redefines the functional limits of physical space. Like a living thing, it opens or closes the space, creating new uses adapted to the modularity needs of tomorrow's housing.
It accompanies the biological process of the user by adapting to their circadian rhythm. Connected and capacitive, it is modular and learns from its host. This type of project establishes a new supportive relationship to digital innovation." Arnaud Le Roi, Teaching Manager Digital Design Lab
